Similar to the “Identity of an Island” project which was held in Gozo, and which I was invited to participate in, the Gracy project will involve a large-scale drawing. It will also be thematically close to the notions explored in the “Ogygia” series of works. While in the former series the rhythmic visual movement on canvas was inspired by the paradoxically humane Ulyssean elegy, the Gracy work will depict liberal hedonism and the human being’s constant need to quench this unsatiable desire. The psychological themes depicted will explore the human condition, this time from a celebratory stance, a trajectory in which one’s spirit may revel.
